How to use a stopwatch, laps, countdown, and Pomodoro in the browser
Elapsed time, split lists, countdowns, and 25-minute focus cycles — local clocks in this tab, not a calendar or a cron job.
Stopwatch vs laps
Stopwatch at /tools/stopwatch starts, pauses, and resets elapsed time in this tab. Stopwatch with Laps at /tools/stopwatch-laps records splits you can copy. Closing or sleeping the laptop can stall requestAnimationFrame-based UIs; treat sports timing as approximate. These pages do not sync to a starting pistol or to other devices.
Countdown vs Pomodoro
Timer at /tools/timer counts down from a duration you set and is done when it hits zero. Pomodoro Timer at /tools/pomodoro-timer follows the common 25-minute focus, short break, and longer break after a few cycles. It is a productivity pattern, not medical advice, and not a school exam clock. Notifications depend on the browser and whether the tab is allowed to alert you.
Steps
1) Open Stopwatch for simple elapsed time, or Laps if you need splits. 2) Open Timer for “ping me in 10 minutes.” 3) Open Pomodoro for a repeating focus/break cadence. 4) Keep the tab visible if you rely on an audible or title-bar cue. 5) For wall-clock conversion across cities, use Time Zone Converter, not these timers.
Worked example
Kitchen: Timer 8 minutes. Workout intervals: Stopwatch with Laps, copy the list. Deep work: Pomodoro, ignore chat for one 25-minute block. Meeting across zones: Time Zone Converter for the start instant, not a stopwatch. Timestamp Converter if you logged a Unix time instead.
